Shagging with the Stars
The NSDC started “Shaggin With the Stars” several years ago to get the local Myrtle Beach community more involved in the NSDC and raise money for the Beth Mitchell Scholarship. Local “stars” and community leaders are paired with professional shag dancers and given only 12 hours of practice time before competing at NSDC Prelims each January. The contestants are judged 2/3 by shag dance judges and 1/3 by audience applause.
